Eason is talented, hardworking and humble. He has a strong foundation, and he sets high expectations for his academic performance. Even so, he understands that math is a huge study, so he would complete all class work and homework on time, and gets extra practice for himself.
Due to the elective selections for grade 10(F.4), Eason studied intensively for his final exams. He completed the school past papers and Knight Math’s homework. He would gather a list of problems that he struggled with and would send them to me outside of classes. Through his problem list, I realized how much effort he put into his study. Unfortunately, his exam results did not meet the expectations due to numerous careless mistakes. He felt depressed, and he was anxious about the selection.
As an educator, I know that the scores are just numbers that do not define a student. They are important, but they are not everything of life. Moreover, I am concerned about the wellbeing of my students, not only their scholastic achievements. So I let Eason know that these numbers would not change how I see him as one of my best students with well self-discipline, and I am very proud of him.
After all, he has been admitted to grade 10 with all the electives of his preference: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and M2. Congratulations.
